The Story
Owain began his presenting career as a children’s TV presenter in 2010. This gave him the opportunity to present live television on a daily basis and to develop his interviewing skills with some of the toughest interviewees - children!
He quickly took advantage of the opportunities that presented themselves to follow his true passion in sports. The BBC Radio Cymru / Wales and Clwb Rugby, S4C quickly enlisted the former rugby player and referee as a matchday reporter. He travelled across Europe following Wales’ rugby regions and worked on the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
Owain enjoys the buzz which the fast moving world of live daily TV offers. When he had the chance in 2015 to transition from children’s TV to the daytime magazine programmes Heno & Prynhawn Da, S4C it was the perfect chance to continue to develop and evolve as a presenter.
However Owain ensured he continued to work in sports at every opportunity.
In 2016, BT Sports and ITV 2 included Owain on their roaster of reporters. The former with their European Champions Cup highlights programme and the latter on their Anglo Welsh Cup highlights coverage.
Since 2018 he has presented and reported on the United Rugby Championship for Premier Sports whilst continues to be ever-present on variety of sporting themed programmes on S4C. From the host of the entertaining sports quiz ‘Gêm Gartre’ to presenting the Wales strongest man competition.
One of Owain’s career highlights was when he presented Amazon Prime Video Autumn Nations Series. His first set of international rugby matches.
